A “free-range” native New Yorker and internationally-recognized, award-winning, Harvard and Yale educated board certified dermatologist Dr. Dina Strachan (Dr. Dina) brings value that’s more than “skin deep” as a clinician, media-personality, speaker, author and consultant. Having grown up mostly in The Bronx, Dr. Strachan was among one of the first black female graduates of The Hotchkiss School, and elite New England boarding school in Connecticut. She later attended Harvard College from where she graduated at the age of 20. After interning with grassroots development organizations in India, and working as a perinatal case manager at The Mattapan Community Health Center in Boston, she went on to receive her medical degree from Yale. Dr. Strachan completed residency training at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco. Her first job as a board-certified dermatologist took advantage of her clinical, educational and leadership skills as she served as the Director of Resident Education at King/Drew Medical Center where she was one of only two full-time faculty training 6 residents, and serving a catchment area of over 1 million in South Central Los Angeles. In addition to her bicoastal medical expertise, Dr. Strachan is a key opinion leader in health technology having also done post-doctoral training in biomedical informatics both at the prestigious Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA and at Columbia University.

Her first article in major media was of an interview with Curtis “Rock” Sliwa, founder of The Guardian Angeles and now popular Radio and TV personality, published in New York’s The Amsterdam News, one of the oldest African American newspapers in the country. She was 13 years old. She is a sought-after blogger, who authored, “I don’t apologize for being fast doctor,” which was shared thousands of times and included in the list of “classics” for 2016 on the nation’s leading healthcare blog, KevinMD.com. She was hired by about.com, now verywell.com, to author and star in 38 videos on acne. Dr. Strachan has interviewed fashion legend, Calvin Klein, and has been cited in a variety of local and national media including The Dr. Oz Show, Good Morning America, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Health, Ebony, Essence, Latina, Redbook and the local CBS and NBC News. Dr. Strachan was featured in the fashion section of the iconic Rolling Stone magazine. She is one of the co-hosts on the on-line talk show and book club, The Tea.
Currently on faculty at New York University, Dr. Strachan has also taught at the University of California, Los Angeles and Columbia University. She is a former member of the medical disciplinary board for the state of New York, having been one of the youngest recruits at age 38.
